Origins

Families with the surname Zembroń from around the world have been contacted and asked to share their personal stories and family histories. These families have been traced back to the Polish city of Rzeszów or nearby towns such as Łańcut, Przeworsk, Tyczyn, Wysoka, and others.

The earliest known and verified ancestor is Tomasz Zembroń (1746-1806), who also lived in this region. The current goal is to reconnect and unite all Zembroń families back to Tomasz, and potentially even further, in order to construct an extensive family tree and prove that all individuals with this surname share a common origin, regardless of where they live today.

Many of the early Zembroń families worked as weavers (Tkaczy), producing fabrics used for bedding, clothing, towels, and similar items. Others were farmers, cultivating fresh produce to sell in the local area.

The following Facebook post and YouTube video showcase the traditional crafts and work of the Zembroń families.

About

Alex

My name is Alex Zembroń, and I am the creator and owner of this website. Like many of us, I was born in Poland, but I grew up in Germany and later moved to Australia, where I currently live and work as a genealogist. I speak Polish, German, and English (my preferred language). I have been researching the history of the surname Zembroń for over 35 years. As a young boy, I began asking my grandparents about our family history, taking notes on a large sheet of paper. Over time, my research transitioned to the internet, where I reached out to families both locally and abroad to uncover connections. I also obtained microfilms of historical Church Records from Poland, which I continue to study today.

I possess the largest collection of Zembroń family trees worldwide, most of which are part of an extensive super family tree on MyHeritage.com, containing over 5700 individuals. I have access to numerous historical archives and databases to support my ongoing research. My ultimate goal is to prove that all Zembroń families worldwide are connected. However, time is running out, and each year, valuable information is lost as family members pass away. Today, many descendants lack the passion, skills, or time to build their family trees. I hope this website will inspire more individuals to assist me in my research. The best way to stay updated on major developments is through Facebook, but I can also be reached via the contact form below.
